My new volunteering blog

Hi!

This is my blog where I gather info about volunteering opportunities, nonprofits I like, and news about my current volunteer projects.

I'll be putting a bunch more stuff on it soon.

Volunteering

All of the organizations or specific causes I mention on this blog are ones I'm involved in myself as a volunteer. These are some ways I help -- and ways you might be able to help also.

PERFORMER / TEACHER

I currently perform and lead music workshops at the Ronald McDonald House in Manhattan and various Sing for Hope venues. I'm always willing to come sing for anyone who you think might benefit from some music -- whether it's one person who can't leave his or her house or a giant school with no funding for the arts let me know and I'll make something happen.

AMBASSADOR

For the solar justice campaign I'm part of the Solar 100, a group of leaders from many fields who are working as ambassadors to the spread about energy poverty and how people can help.

FUNDRAISER

Kelli Whitten is the daughter of a friend of mine who has immense medical expenses -- I did a fundraiser for her via my band the Deedle Deedle Dees and I'm planning to do another.

And this isn't all. Send me your favorite projects and I'll spread the word. If I can, I'll come in person to sing or help out in other ways.
